Caution: Rational Thinking Ahead
"Why GEEK WORLD LIVING?", you ask. Well, it is my world. Not having been graced with the finesse of a dancer, the prowess of an athlete, nor the looks of a fashion model, I make use with the best I got: a good brain, a rational mind, and a healthy interest in knowing the unknown.
My living and my hobbies both involve unwinding complexity and solving problems. To me, learning and understanding how and why things work the way they do is just as interesting as doing those things; whatever they are. That's what being a geek is for me.
But that's just one example. The word 'geek' means different things in different circles, of course. For me, geeks have always been exactly the sorts of people who value process as much as product. They are my friends; my peers. They understand why using a line editor called vi to build a web site rather than some fancy WYSIWYG program is a more interesting project. Why? Because geekiness is a mindset, a way of being. Take a look here to learn more.
This site started as a repository for me to keep track of files, photos, how-tos, faqs, instructions, etc. But it has evolved a bit as it has grown - as I have grown. I find myself searching for answers to problems that other people have already solved regularly. Occasionally, I find the problem at hand has no prediscovered or well-documented solution. So, I've been trying to fill those little gaps in some small attempt, in the spirit of good net-citizenry, to give back a bit as well.
There are many ways to get at the content within. Roughly, though, starting with the top level navigation, the site divides into five major categories: Geek Stuff - the main information repository; Photos - both my personal photo albums as well as samples of my artwork; Daily life, my personal blogs; Tools, a collection of links I frequent, and lastly, Contact information, just in case, god knows why, you might want to get in touch.
Have at it and have fun.
